Hey, Towles. I read your piece on Brevity about blogging. I live in the Atlanta area as well and I think I'm doing a similar thing with my new blog sweetsuburbia.org. I'm attempting a creative nonfiction treatment of chronicling life here in suburbia. I'd love to chat about this sometime.

I studied Creative Writing at GSU and am a working journalist and freelancer as well.

Let me know if you have a few minutes.

I agree, the material in Taylor's book relating to understanding the experience of , and recovery from, stroke are valuable. But, I found her book frustrating. It is billed as a kind of self help, human potential book, and I just didn't find that in there.

If you are interested, I have posted my own review at wellcraftedtoo.wordpress.com

Good luck with your loved one's recovery!

I'm happy to see that Narrative Magazine now has a Kindle edition. That the Kindle offers literary publications a new way to earn revenue is indicated by the fact that a monthly Kindle subscription costs $3.49 while the online version is free. The price point seems a little high to me, but I would be willing to pay more than zero for having the convenience of reading good writing on my Kindle, which I can curl up with in bed or my favorite chair, or a plane.

I just plugged back into FB after a month and a half hiatus. I can already feel the addiction pulling at me again... I suppose moderation / balance is what I need. Self-discipline is in high demand these days. Thanks for your words. You clearly touched on something given all these comments.

I posted this on S+C blog.

The computer/internet is a great tool, but one that can leave us empty. If we turn to it for all of our inspiration we are limiting ourselves. Books, nature, a long walk can lead to ideas that we would never receive from the blue glow of our computer screen.

Thanks for the inspiring words, Tiny.
